한국에서 자란 김레이시 작가는 자연스럽게 미술을 접했습니다. 독서, 그림 그리기, 캘리그라피 등 조용한 활동을 즐기던 조용한 아이였습니다. 서울여자대학교에서 학사 학위를 받은 후 영국 노팅엄 트렌트 대학교에서 석사 학위를, 뉴욕 프랫 인스티튜트에서 석사 학위를 취득하는 등 국제적인 교육을 받았습니다. 각 장소와 경험은 그녀의 창작 과정에 영향을 미쳤습니다. 직관적인 마음의 흐름을 따르는 선으로 이루어진 그녀의 작품은 뉴욕, 시카고, 마이애미, 서울 등의 도시에서 전시되었습니다. 현재는 대한민국 세종에 거주하고 있습니다.
Growing up in Korea, Kim found art quite naturally. She was a quiet child who enjoyed reading, drawing, calligraphy, and other peaceful activities. After graduating from Seoul Women’s University with a BFA she pursued an international education, completing an MA at Nottingham Trent University in the UK, then an MFA at New York’s Pratt Institute. Each place and experience have informed her creative process. Kim’s work, which is made up of lines that follow the flow of her intuitive mind, has been shown in cities like New York, Chicago, Miami, and Seoul. Today Kim is based in Sejong, South Korea.
